The Fruit of the Spirit

Last week we were in the first couple of chapters in Ezra and in Haggai and learned that God kept His promise to bring His people home. God’s people rebuilt the temple so they would have a place to worship God. Years later, God sent His Son, Jesus, to be with His people. Now God dwells not in the temple, but directly with His people. We don’t need a temple anymore. First, God’s people went to the temple to worship and be with God. Then to be with God was to be with Jesus. Now, to be with God is to be filled with the Holy Spirit. We can worship and be with God always! Because of Jesus, we can have eternal life with God forever. When we believe in our heart, and say with our mouth that Jesus is our Savior and Lord, we are saved (Romans 10:9-10). The Spirit helps believers of Jesus to grow fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
