Bible Study - UNCHARTED

  1. What is something God has done for you that you are thankful for or are celebrating? How have you experienced His faithfulness to you this week?

  2. Where are you experiencing stress, anxiety or discouragement? How would you like to see God move in your life or in the life of someone close to you?

  3. What did you hear in this week’s sermon that was new or particularly interesting? Did anything stand out to you as puzzling or troubling?

  4. Read 2 Corinthians 1:8-9. Paul writes, “We do not want you to be uninformed…” This tells us something about the human ability to easily forget or overlook things.
    • What does Paul want the Corinthians to know or remember (the trouble, the hardship, the truth about Jesus, etc.)?
    • He also writes, “far beyond our ability to endure.” What do you notice about Paul’s word choice here? What does this teach us about human limitations?
    • Verse 9 states, “But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God…” Paul has a certain kind of perspective here. What do you notice about Paul’s language? Why is perspective important?

  5. Chris asked an important question in his sermon. What specifically are you relying on God for right now?

  6. Chris also mentioned that there are treasures to be found in these difficult times. What are some things you are learning, seeing, or experiencing in this current moment? How is God growing or deepening your faith?

  7. If you have been following along in the 30-day prayer guide (“Jesus Next Door”), what are you learning? How can we join you in praying for the people around you?
