Bible Study - WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?

Sermon-Based Bible Study – January 17, 2021
  1. What is something God has done for you that you are thankful for or are celebrating? How have you experienced God’s love and faithfulness this week?
  2. Where are you experiencing stress, anxiety or discouragement? How would you like to see God move in your life or in the life of someone close to you?
  3. What did you hear in this week’s sermon that was new or particularly interesting? Who would benefit or be interested in hearing about that from you?  Did anything stand out to you as puzzling or troubling?
  4. Our decisions matter.  They impact the kind of world we live in, the kind of people we become and the kind of lives we have.
    1. What is a decision you have made that has had a positive impact on the world, who you’ve become or the kind of life you are experiencing?
    2. What is the last decision you’d like to unmake? Why?
    3. When have you based a decision solely on your immediate happiness or gratification? Describe the decision—and the result.
  5. Read Deuteronomy 11:13-17; 26-29.  Make a quick list of the blessings and curses that Moses puts before the children of Israel.  Why do you think Moses tells them to pronounce blessings from one place and curses from another place?  Where would be a good place for you to stand and meditate on the blessings of following God’s instructions?  What vista would be good for you to look at as you meditate on the consequences of not following God’s instructions?
  6. Read Proverbs 19:3 and Galatians 6:7-10.  What decisions are you facing that offer a clear distinction between sowing to please the flesh or to please the Spirit?  What is one decision you could make in regard to a habit that would clearly be sowing to please the Spirit?
  7. What is a simple, next step you could take in obedience to what the Spirit is saying to you through this time in the Word?  Who would benefit, or be interested in hearing about what you’ve learned in this study?
